It's nice to know that you don't have to spend big to make the kids happy and no one knows this better than the good folks at Nintendo. Not only do they offer one of the best priced full gaming consoles with the Nintendo Wii, but they also have one of the top portable gaming system, the Nintendo DS.

Priced at $191.68 at Quickshop.com.au, you can afford to buy one for each of your kids and still have plenty of money left to buy a few games.

The new Nintendo DS Lite is smaller (just 133mm x 73.9mm x 21.5mm, compared to 148.7mm x 84.7mm x 28.9mm ) and lighter (weights just 218g instead of 275g) than the previous model. The Start & Select button positions have been changed, they are now located below the four action buttons at the lower right. Also the microphone and power LED indicator are now at a different position.

While Tivo has yet to officially arrive on Australia's shores, it has existed unofficially for a number of years, thanks in large part to the Tivo fanatics (not the same fanatics that follow Hewitt around) who have been able to get the Series 1 Tivo to work down under.

Thanks to this network I've been able to fully enjoy the benefit of time shifting 90% of my tv viewing and skipping commercials for the past two plus years. It is truly revolutionary and unlike the IQ, you can tape all free to air, satellite and digital channels.

Unfortunately, you can't yet by one (the only way to get one is to build your own - learn how at ozTivo), but you can join the AUS Tivo mailing list and be the first to find out when it finally makes it's downunder.

Getting lost is never fun. Getting lost after your wife told you to turn left at the next left 30 minutes ago is just plain embarrassing Some might even say ignorant. Pig-headed. Stupid.

When my wife brought home a third potty for my son who had yet to show any sign in wanting to give up the nappies, I had to ask her whether we really needed 3 potties.
