The only caveat is that you must purchase a minimum of $150 per person on land arrangements such as car hire and/or accommodation. Travel for the cheap price is from November 1 to December 9, 2006. The minimum stay is 4 days with a maximum of 12 months.
According to the Saturday SMH (30/09/06), YHA Travel has cheap flights to London, good for one year, starting at $1299.00 plus taxes or around the world for $1690.00 plus taxes. In the hope of getting more details on the deal for this post I followed the website address listed on the ad to www.yha.com.au/overseas/ to learn more.
Unfortunately, though it's all just a big waste of time as YHA does not actually provide any additional information on these deals other than a link that takes you to their booking form. In order to find a flight at the advertised price and learn the details you actually have to search for the right dates (I gave up after 5 attempts).
As I was hoping to find important details such as the applicable travel dates for these fares, the expiry dates, taxes, and more to share with you, you'll likely need to call them on 02-9261-1111.
While YHA gets a B for sending visitors to a unique page on their website (other than the home page), they deserve a D for not actually providing more information on the actual details of the deal.
